Kumho Sponsors The Basketball Tournament

Kumho Tire USA has joined The Basketball Tournament (TBT) presented by Jack Link’s Protein Snacks as an event sponsor.

“We are always looking for unique partnerships and activation platforms that amplify our brand engagement with sports enthusiasts, and we think that TBT really delivers the demo as a natural extension to our basketball strategy throughout the summertime,” said Brian Gallagher of Kumho Tire USA.  “Their partnership with ESPN, their significant growth since the initial launch and the ability to creatively craft other exposure points made this an easy choice for us. We are looking forward to growing together with them.”

With the sponsorship, Kumho will receive extensive broadcast exposure, the ability to create dealer programs and custom content featured on ESPN. Kumho Tire will also hold the title sponsorship of the MVP Tournament Performance Award that is awarded at the 2016 TBT Finals in New York City.

Additionally, the top fan of each team in the Championship Game will be eligible to win the Kumho Tire “Fan Payoff,” which awards the fan of the winning team a free set of Kumho tires.  During the semi-final games, Kumho will also launch a tire dealer program where two VIP Kumho tire dealer guests will receive a pre-game meet and greet with teams and perks such as walking out of the tunnel with the team, courtside seats and merchandise.

TBT semifinals will take place in New York City on July 30 and the $2,000,000 Championship Game will be hosted on August 2.

This year, more than 300 teams applied to play in TBT 2016. Applicants included more than 400 players with professional experience and 63 with NBA experience.
