Kumho Tire USA Inc. took another action to resume construction of its $413 million plant in Macon, Ga. The Telegraph reported that Kumho has applied to the Macon-Bill County Planning & Zoning Commission for a conditional-use permit to allow revisions to a previously approved site plan.
The new application is a renewal of the previous proposal that expired when the plant was delayed several years due to the recession. According to the commission’s staff report, the new application has minor site plan changes.
The application is on the Aug. 11 meeting agenda as a ratification item.
