The Kal Tire store in Vernon, B.C., was the victim of a major tire burglary, with thieves making off with more than 100 medium truck tires and dozens of truck wheels sometime Oct. 24-25.
Police suggested the thieves used a large truck to haul away their booty. The lost tires and wheels were valued at $65,000.
"In all there were 123 tires of various sizes and 28 rims stolen,” a police spokesman said. “They would have been there for some time to load all of the tires and rims that were stolen."
According to Kal Tire, thieves made off with eight Michelin XDS2 in size 11/R22.5 H/16P, eight Double Coin RLB400 in size 11/R24.5 G/14P, eight Kumho MD36 TL in size 11/R24.5 H/16P, nine Nokian NTR 21 in size 11/R22.5 H/16P, 20 Michelin XZA-1 Plus TL in sizes 11/R22.5 G/14P and 11/R24.5 G/14P (10 of each), 24 Continental HDW2 in size 11/R22.R H/16P, 36 Bridgestone M711 TL in size 11/24.5 G/14P, and 28 wheels in size 22.5×8.25 10-hole.
