Jimmy Guy took over full ownership of Mike’s Tire and Automotive, where he has worked since 1980 and has served as vice president since 2003. In July, Guy purchased the business from Beth Haskell, widow of Monty Haskell who owned the shop from 1976 until his death on Sept. 20, 2013.
“Our goal is to continue the traditions that we have fostered over the years at Mike’s,” Guy said. “We have always prided ourselves on providing great service to our customers and their vehicles. We have a great customer base with some going back to before my time here. We’re looking forward to continuing a great relationship with them, and seeing some new faces.”
Mike’s Tire and Automotive was founded in 1954. Today, Mike’s Tire and Automotive, which carries Michelin brand tires and Toyo tires, is a family affair. Guy’s son, Tyler is among the team of technicians and his wife, Michele, and mother-in-law, Penny Williams, remain part of the office and administrative staff.
