Pirelli Tire North America will help sponsor Inter Campus USA in New York City. With its June launch, this program will be the first Inter Campus program within the U.S.
Inter Campus was founded in 1997 by FC Internazionale Milan. The program uses soccer as an educational tool to help needy children between 6 and 13 years old have the “right to play.” The program is present in 29 different countries.
“We are excited to be a part of the first ever Inter Campus US program here in NYC, which aims to use the universal appeal of soccer as a tool for social change and empowerment in needy areas where it matters most: with children, our future generations. Pirelli has a rich heritage in sports, having participated in and supported a variety of sports at the highest level for over 100 years,” said Paolo Ferrari, CEO and chairman of PTNA.
“More importantly, we believe in the values and positive benefits of sport – teamwork, passion, mental/physical health, discipline and purpose – so supporting Inter Campus and their honorable mission was a natural fit,” he added.
The Inter Campus USA program will be dedicated to 120 children. Participants will have access to training and mentorship from educators during the academic year as well as tutoring opportunities. Additionally, children will receive official FC Internazionale Milan sportswear kits.
Sponsored by Pirelli, Inter Campus USA will be managed by the Youri Djorkaeff Foundation, an organization ran by former FC Internazionale and French soccer player.
