Ingersoll Rand is debuting its W7150 half-inch High-Torque Cordless Impactool at this year’s SEMA Show.
Weighing in at 6.8 lbs. and measuring 9.4 inches from tip to tail, Ingersoll Rand said the W7150 features a best-in-class power-to-weight ratio; offering 780 ft.-lbs. reverse torque and 1,100 ft.-lbs. nut-busting torque. It also features a re-engineered high-power rare earth magnet motor, a steel-lined aluminum hammer case, and a chemical resistant, patent-pending metal reinforced housing for maximum durability. The W7150 also features an all-metal drive train and hammer mechanism optimized for maximum power and efficiency, and a variable speed switch with electronic brake for optimized control, the company added.
The W7150’s power comes from the new Ingersoll Rand IQV20 Series battery platform, which features a high-powered lithium-ion battery that delivers high-charge capacity and low internal impedance for maximum power delivery, Ingersoll Rand said. The platform also features an intelligent battery management system that provides power-level and flow-rate control from the battery to the switch to the motor, and a mountable smart charging station with auxiliary USB port.
“The W7150 represents the greatest advance in cordless technology to date,” says Nate Schmid, marketing manager for vehicle services with Ingersoll Rand. “Not only does it have all the power, ergonomics and durability of a best-in-class Ingersoll Rand tool – it’s the only cordless tool in the world that can perform shoulder-to-shoulder with our best-in-class 2135TiMax half-inch air Impact. No other cordless half-inch impact on the market can even come close. We think that this tool is going to change the way technicians think about cordless technology.”
The W7150 is the first addition to the new IQV20 Series of 20V lithium-ion cordless tools and will be available beginning in January 2012.
