Hercules Rolls Out Roadtour 655 MRE

Roadtour655MREHercules Tire & Rubber Co. has added a mid-range all-season touring tire, the Hercules Roadtour 655 MRE, to the Roadtour line.

“We are excited to be able to offer the Roadtour 655 MRE,” said Jedd Emans, vice president of marketing for Hercules. “The original Roadtour 655 has been a bestseller since it came on the market in 2009. We built upon its success with the Roadtour 655 MRE by updating the tread design and making it lighter in weight. This tire will offer an excellent ride for an exceptional value – qualities our Roadtour family is known for to consumers and dealers. And, like the original, this tire offers Road Hazard Protection and a great mileage warranty.”

The tire features thin-gauge siping that is 33% narrower than standard gauge siping and the micro sipes offer the same flexibility. These sipes offer greater contact with the road for better traction, Hercules said. Additionally, zig-zag siping creates more biting edges and reduces lateral movement to decrease sway and improve handing.

The tire’s updated four-pitch sequence allows for more lateral grooves to improve traction without increasing noise and the enhanced profile shape optimizes surface contact for better traction and tread life, Hercules adds.

The Hercules Roadtour 655 MRE is available in 31 sizes for 14- to 18-inch rim diameters, with seven of those sizes new to the Roadtour line. The tire also comes with up to 65,000 miles of warranty coverage, including road hazard protection and Hercules’ 30-day “Trust Our Ride” test drive.

The Hercules Roadtour 655 MRE will be introduced to the market as the Roadtour 655’s inventories are depleted.
