Hankook Tire America Corp. is facing problems at its Clarksville, Tenn., tire plant after its access road was built 5 feet above where the plant meets an outside road, according to local media.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation had been working on the expansion of Rossview Road, while Hankook already installed utilities beneath the access road. The discrepancy in elevation could lead to additional costs for Hankook to fix the problem, but no official statements on the matter have been made.
While the Montgomery County Industrial Development Board oversaw the site design of Hankook’s first North American site, it did not work on the road plans.
The board said it is currently working on a plan to resolve the issue.
