In the wake of a tornado that damaged homes and property in Clarksville, Tennessee, Hankook Tire made a $10,000 donation to United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region. The company opened a plant in the area in 2017.
The funds will be used by LifePoint Church to purchase Visa gift cards for tornado victims in Clarksville, which is home to the company’s North American tire manufacturing plant.
“Helping the community in times of need is very important to us,” said Ilhwan Jeon, Hankook Tire Tennessee plant president. “Clarksville’s residents have been an important part of our success, so our hope is to support them as they have supported us.”
The funds Hankook contributed to United Way will be distributed through LifePoint Church. Those who have experienced damage should contact LifePoint to submit an explanation and documentation of their need and a request for assistance. Applicants can contact LifePoint by emailing [email protected] or calling (931) 920-5594.
The donation is the latest in a number of efforts Hankook has made to help the community. Last September the company donated $10,000 to help United Way fill a truck of supplies for Hurricane Harvey victims. Hankook also has a major nationwide partnership with DAV (Disabled American Veterans), hosting mobile service office stops at partner dealers around the country, including an event in Clarksville.
