Hankook Tire America Corp. showcased its new truck and bus radial (TBR) tire offerings at the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) in Louisville, Kentucky this week.
The South Korean tiremaker’s SmartFlex AH35 is the latest in a series of offerings aimed at helping truck and bus drivers achieve higher mileage and superior traction. The company also showcased its AL21 and TL21 tires at MATS with information and an interactive exhibit for customers and event attendees interested in the company’s products.
“Our TBR customers are passionate about maximizing efficiency while keeping costs low,” said J.H. Moon, Hankook America’s TBR marketing general manager. “The SmartFlex and the other tires in our TBR arsenal help them accomplish those goals while keeping their drivers safe…”
The SmartFlex AH35 is a new, all-season road tire designed for variable road conditions. Its tread design and multiple 3-D sipes give drivers better mileage and enhanced traction, the company says. Its carcass structure leads to a smoother ride and better handling, and its bead profile allows for better retreadability, according to Hankook.
The e3 Max AL21 [all-position] and TL21 [trailer-position] tires are long-haul offerings designed to provide longer mileage by decreasing uneven wear. The AL21’s lateral kerf provides better traction and prevents tearing and cracking.
Smooth lines at the edge of the grooves provide a better footprint to help the TL21 increase fuel efficiency. A decoupling groove on the side is designed to resist irregular wear, improve durability and promote stability for better performance.
All three products are available on Hankook Tire’s website.
