Hankook Hanging Around New York’s Times Square

Hankook Tire America took billboard space in the ultra-busy Times Square in New York City, and found a unique way to stand out from the advertising crowd there.

The tire company’s giant tire-shaped building wrap stretched across the New York Marriott Marquis hotel.

“This is another example of our commitment to raise the premium profile of Hankook brand in North America,” said Soo Il Lee, president of Hankook Tire America. “As the quality and performance of Hankook tires continues to be the foundation of our sales success, we must intensify our effort to attract even more new consumers to consider Hankook brand. We see this as a unique opportunity to do just that.”

The Times Square area draws some 500,000 people each day, Hankook said, and is the epicenter of billboard advertising, with space taken by the world’s leading consumer brands, including Coke, Samsung, Kodak, LG, Sony and Toshiba.
The Hankook billboard wrap is on Broadway, between 45th and 46th Street. The 31×98-foot wrap was installed on the New York Marriott Marquis hotel last week, and was designed to replicate the tread of the Hankook Ventus V12 evo.
