Grismer Tire & Auto Service opened a new location outside of Dayton in Kettering, Ohio.
“Kettering has been a desirable community for us,” Matt McCormick, store supervisor, shared with Tire Review. “We’ve looked around at property a number of times and we finally got the right fit.”
The new location opened on June 5 with a grand opening ceremony on June 9. The event featured a cookout as well as a visit from local radio station K99, city council members, and the chamber of commerce.
Designed with the customer in mind, the new 6,800-square-foot facility features windows in the waiting rooms that overlook the service bays and a putt-putt green to entertain customers as they wait. Plus, the shop has USB ports in the walls and a separate charging station to allow customers to stayed powered up.
In the back of the shop, the dealership has 10 service bays. One bay is dedicated to a flush mounted Hunter Quick Check system, a first for Grismer. Readings from the Quick Check System are then displayed inside the showroom for instantaneous tread depth readings for the customer.
Grimer’s new location also includes equipment such as wheel arm lifts to make work easier and safer for employees.
“In this day and age, where there is a shortage of automotive technicians, you better protect the ones you have,” McCormick said.
He also notes that investing in employees helps with retention because they know the business is interested in their welfare.
Grismer Tire Co. operates 24 retail locations and 27 total locations. The dealership has locations across Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus.
