GRI Marks 15 Year Milestone

GRI, a leading industrial and specialty tire producer, is celebrating 15 years of growth and success.

GRI is celebrating 15 years of growth and success. Over the past 15 years, the company has become a leading industrial and specialty tire producer with its diverse industrial tire product range and the launch of an new product portfolio in agriculture, construction and port tires.

GRI commenced its journey in 2002, when its founder and managing director, Prabhash Subasinghe, built a tire manufacturing plant near Colombo, Sri Lanka. The factory was built with the capacity to manufacture over 400,000 tires annually. GRIs global out-reach expands to over 50 countries worldwide and a network of sales offices in 6 countries, covering the United States, Europe and Asia.

January 2017 saw the groundbreaking for GRI’s new Specialty Tire (ST) Factory, on 10 acres of industrial land adjacent to its current factory site. When it opens in January 2018, the new GRI factory will be the largest and most advanced in Sri Lanka, dedicated to produce specialty tires and the first to produce radial agriculture tires. Its production machines will signal a step-up in technological innovation, while its sustainable development focus will be evidenced by way of solar panels, biomass boilers and recyclable waste management systems.
