GRI has developed an eco-friendly version of its high-performance Ultimate XT solid tire by replacing petroleum-based oil with natural oil, which is carbon neutral and renewable. The GRI R&D team worked with a team of scientists from the department of chemistry at the University of Columbo to create the oil.
The tire was developed to perform in all surface terrains and harsh working conditions. Test results have indicated that replacement of petroleum oil with the environmentally-friendly oil has successfully resulted in superior performance of the tire, GRI says.
The Premium Plus Ultimate XT solid tire is made from top-grade Sri Lankan rubber and engineered to exacting standards, featuring a futuristic tread design that delivers on low rolling resistance and high run time, GRI says.
Spearheading the launch in the United States will be Gary Stevens, GRI’s resident of sales.
“Heavier loads, rougher surfaces, longer distances, higher speeds and a smoother ride with utmost dependability. This eco-friendly Ultimate XT formulation coupled with its wide profile footprint has statistically proven to reduce tire wear proportionately throughout the tire’s lifecycle while having the capability to run on all surface conditions in any application including indoor, outdoor, wet and dry conditions. It is available in non-marking and clip-type tires in a full range of sizes,” said Stevens.
