Goodyear Reveals Details of TruckForce Investment

(Clacton, U.K./Tyres & Accessories) Goodyear Dunlop UK is investing in and reorganising its TruckForce network in a move designed to enhance customer service, company executives told Tyres & Accessories today.

In England and Wales, Goodyear’s truck business will now be served by 16 hub outlets and 45 so-called “spokes.” These company-owned and franchised dealerships will be supported by a wider network of 250-280 TruckForce partners.

Speaking at the Commercial Vehicle show in Birmingham, truck strategic business unit director Clive Powell and director of retail operations Chris Kisby described how the company is introducing a “hub and spoke” network as “a foundation from which to build.”

The details follow managing director Dick Johnson’s announcement in November that the company would “focus and reorganise” its retail business by separating into a distinct commercial and consumer areas.

Previously, the Hi-Q network incorporated 183 outlets serving both sides of the business. Of these, 83 had a more CV orientated focus. According to Clive Powell, this will give Goodyear the opportunity to expand its service opportunity ultimately leading to better service for customers and increased market share for the company.
