Goodyear Names McCann Erickson as U.S. Agency

(Akron/Tire Review) After months of reviewing various advertising agencies, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. selected McCann Erickson as its new U.S. agency. The appointment was effective yesterday.

McCann Erickson was chosen over Saatchi & Saatchi after the two agencies were tapped as finalists in the search.

"We were very pleased with the work of both ‘finalist’ agencies," said Joey Viselli, Goodyear’s director of marketing services. "Both McCann Erickson and Saatchi & Saatchi provided us with terrific, strategically-grounded creative work for both print and electronic media. We were most impressed with McCann Erickson’s collaborative chemistry with Goodyear and with our other agencies. Its team showed a willingness to push us creatively while still embracing Goodyear’s brand personality. We believe McCann Erickson will help take our marketing efforts to a new level."
