Goodyear Introduces Fierce Brand, New Kelly Tire

(Akron/Tire Review) Today, at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.’s annual dealer meeting in Nashville, Tenn., Goodyear introduced a new tire brand and a new Kelly brand tire.

Fierce, a new brand which targets the ultra-high performance, high performance and sport truck tuner markets, will be available in three lines – Fierce UHP, Fierce HP and Fierce ST. The Fierce ST, for example, carries a UTQG tread life rating of 540 and features M+S capability.

Popular applications for the ST include the Dodge Ram, Ford F-Series and Cadillac Escalade. A three-dimensional, directional tread design enhances vehicle appearance, while a rim flange protector helps to protect expensive wheels.

“Ventless mold technology” also provides a “premium appearance,” according to Goodyear. Goodyear also introduced a new Kelly brand tire – the Navigator Touring Gold.

The premium touring tire features a 60,000-mile limited tread life warranty and is available now in 17 H- and V-speed rated sizes. More sizes will be introduced during the second half of 2006, Goodyear said. The Kelly Navigator Touring Gold carries a UTQG rating of 560 AA.
