Tire dealers have until Aug. 1, to register for the Tire Industry Association’s Basic Farm Tire Service (FTS) training class. The class is scheduled for Sept. 1 – 3 in Gothenburg, Neb., and will run from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. daily.
The Basic FTS class, a minimum skills training and certificate program, teaches technicians the guidelines for servicing farm, agriculture and construction tire and wheel assemblies, TIA said. Participants will learn step-by-step procedures for demounting, mounting and inflating, single, duel and three-piece assemblies. Additionally, students will learn truck operation and liquid ballast installation/removal.
Tuition is $495 for one or two attendees. Companies sending three or more participants will receive a discounted rate of $445.
