TIA president Larry Brandt said that the TIA Foundation fundraising drive for 2012 has started off with strong support from four major tiremakers.
Lending their support so far were Bridgestone Americas, Cooper Tire and Rubber Co., Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and Michelin North America, TIA said.
“TIA’s educational programs are best-of-breed and truly help elevate both the professionalism and safety of tire technicians,” said Brandt, “Servicing tires, whether in the garage or on the road, can be a dangerous undertaking. But with the proper training and tools, we protect both our dedicated employees and our customers from unnecessary risks.”
The TIA Foundation has led to the development of several training initiatives over the last decade; most recently it helped fund the Spanish translation of TIA’s Commercial Tire Service program.
The TIA Foundation is a non-profit, tax-deductible entity. Individual or corporate donations can be made to: TIA Foundation, Tire Industry Association, 1532 Pointer Ridge Place, Suite G, Bowie, MD 20716.
