Falken Reshuffles Executives in Promotions

Falken Tire Corp. has made several executive promotions, each effective April 1.

Yasushi Tanaka, current chairman and CEO, has been promoted to president of SRI Tire Trading Ltd., where he will head up international tire sales for Sumitomo Rubber Industries. Prior to joining Falken in February 2007, Tanaka spent 31 years at Sumitomo Rubber Industries and SRI Tire Trading. He will be stationed in SRI’s headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.

Richard Smallwood, current president and COO of Falken, has been promoted to the company’s president and CEO. Smallwood also serves on the board of directors for SRI Tire Trading. He joined Falken in January 2000, after working 13 years for another tire manufacturer.

Muneharu Kishimoto, current vice president and treasurer of Falken, has been promoted to executive vice president and treasurer. Prior to joining the company in January 2010, Kishimoto spent 33 years at SRI Tire Trading and Ohtsu Tire and Rubber.

Nexen Tire America recently revealed a multi-year partnership with the Major League Baseball team San Diego Padres, spanning the 2024-27 seasons. As the Padres' exclusive tire partner, Nexen Tire will be featured on a variety of marketing assets, including digitally enhanced billboards, in-ballpark branding, mound signage, and more, at Petco Park. In 2023, the Padres drew the second-highest attendance in all of MLB.
