Falken Growing Interactive Social Efforts

Falken Tire Corp. has expanded its interactive website www.wegetyougoing.com, by introducing a new section called falkenfanatic.com.

Designed to be highly interactive, the new section allows visitors to build their own profiles, share experiences and upload race-related information and material. Participants will also have a chance to win products and other motorsports items.

Introduced in April, wegetyougoing.com was developed by Falken to provide visitors with updates on Team Falken ALMS and drift efforts.

"The whole idea behind the Falken Fanatic page is to better connect with our customers and offer them a place where they can express their enthusiasm for motorsports, automobiles and Falken," said Andrew Hoit, director of marketing. "There are many people out there who can’t get to the tracks where our teams race in Formula Drift or ALMS, so Falken Fanatic will become their way of reaching us by posting relevant content themselves as well as participating in games and contests, and we’ll do the same through our photo blog and live streaming of Formula D events."

As part of the interactivity goal, people can sign up to become a “Fanatic,” and enter a sweepstakes to win a bi-weekly drawing for a $25 Starbucks gift card, in addition to participating in other contracts.

BKT has announced its membership of the Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber (GPSNR). BKT said it is thus taking a further step in promoting long-term sustainable practices, culminating in a more environmentally conscious and friendly production in line with the principles defined by GPSNR.

Natural rubber production holds several opportunities for improvement in both environmental and social terms, BKT said. The expansion of rubber plantations is likely to influence tropical forests, but by means of sustainable practices, it is possible to protect biodiversity and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Similarly, ensuring dignified working conditions and respecting workers' rights on rubber plantations is central to promoting an ethical and sustainable industry, according to BKT.
