Falken Debuts New Ziex ZE-912 to Dealers in Thailand

(Akron/Tire Review) Today, at a ride-and-drive event for dealers and media at the Bira International Circuit just outside Pattaya, Thailand, Falken Tire Corp. launched the tire it had previewed at the 2006 SEMA Show – the Ziex ZE-912.

The tire addresses a new market, which Falken officials called the “premium performance touring segment.”

Available in June in 64 sizes, the ZE-912 all-season performance touring tire features an asymmetric tread design, rotation wear indicators, quad high-volume circumferential grooves and high-angle variable cross grooves for stability and hydroplane resistance.

The 60/65 series versions come with a 65,000-mile treadwear warranty, while the 35-55 series versions come with a 40,000-mile treadwear warranty. The ZE-912 has a UTQG rating of 480/A/A (60/65 series) and 360 AA/A (35-55 series).

The ZE-912 succeeds the ZE-512, which, Falken officials said, addressed the “traditional high performance” segment. The ZE-512 will still be available through an exclusive arrangement with Discount Tire, according to Richard Smallwood, president and chief operating officer of Falken Tire Corp.

The ZE-912 will initially be produced in Thailand and Japan.
