FIA formally put out to bid this past weekend F1’s entire race tire program for a three-year period beginning with the 2008 season.
It is expected that Bridgestone Corp. will tender an offer. The status of Groupe Michelin, however, is uncertain. Michelin previously said it would withdraw from F1 racing if the series went to a spec tire, but it has softened its stance somewhat in recent months.
Other tire companies that have been rumored to be interested include Pirelli and Kumho.
Bids are due to FIA by June 23.
