Exhibitors Piling On for 2011 Global Tire Expo

According to SEMA, some 190 exhibitors have already registered for a booth at the 2011 Global Tire Expo, powered by TIA, well on pace to smash last year’s mark.

Last year’s inaugural GTE hosted 194 exhibitors, including 47 first-time exhibitors, up 11.5% from the 2009 show.

The GTE made its debut at the 2010 SEMA Show. The 2011 edition will run from Nov. 1-4 at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC). The Expo is open to all segments of the tire industry, including automotive, commercial, retreading, and recycling.

In addition to the number of exhibitors, last year’s GTE also included expanded educational session tracks targeting the tire market. The tracks included TPMS at 10, Tires at 2, Truck Tires at 10 and Management at 4.

“The educational sessions offered at the GTE provide tire industry attendees with the best of both worlds; they can get up-to-the-minute, relevant and entertaining information from some of the world’s leading experts in the tire industry and still have enough time to make important business contacts and meet plenty of potential suppliers,” said TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield.

If you could boil this year's Continental Tire GOLD member meeting into one takeaway, it's that the tire manufacturer is putting a whole lot of effort into listening and responding to its dealer base. Continental doesn't own company stores, so building a strong value proposition around the company's brands and products with its distributors and retailers is the most effective path to success. To maximize the mutual benefits of this partnership, Continental leadership says acting on the will of its dealer base – whether that's about product, programs, distribution, or anything else – is paramount.
