Driven Racing Oil, maker of everything from full-synthetic race oils to engine break-in oils and cleaners for both race and street vehicles, has released a variety of new products.
New oil types released include: BR20 Break-In Oil; Defender + Booster Fuel Additive, and DR40 Semi-synthetic Turbo Diesel Oil. Additional products launched include Injector Defender Diesel Fuel Additive, Injector Defender Gasoline Fuel Additive, as well as a new oil diagnostic wipe.
BR20 Break-In Oil
The oil is formulated for engines requiring low viscosity oils, Driven Racing Oil BR20 Conventional 5W-20 Break-In Oil offers protection for internal components. BR20 promotes proper surface mating during the critical break-in process and chemically assists with piston ring sealing, thanks to a proprietary anti-wear formulation that doesn’t rely on conventional friction modifiers. It also features a low detergent level that allows the “fast burn” ZDDP additive to adhere directly to all ferrous metal wear surfaces for maximum scuffing protection. Driven engineered BR20 for use in engines that call for the use of 0W-16, 0W-20 and 5W-20 viscosity oils, as well as for overhead cam engines with tight bearing clearances. It is good for dyno testing, one night of racing or up to 400 miles on the street, with no ZDDP or break-in additives required. Viscosity is that of typical of 5W-20.
Defender + Booster Fuel Additive
This new additive from Driven Racing Oil provides protection and performance enhancements for gasoline-powered engines. There are numerous products on the market that claim to be “octane boosters,” yet while Driven Defender + Booster raises the octane in unleaded fuels, it also reduces valve seat wear and protects against the corrosion deposits common with today’s gasoline. Like Driven Carb Defender and Injector Defender Fuel Additives, the product features corrosion inhibitors that control combustion chamber residue, as well as clean and preserve surfaces of the fuel system. By cleaning and controlling combustion chamber and intake valve deposits, Defender + Booster Fuel Additive protects against detonation and improves fuel economy. The additive is ideal for all carbureted and fuel injection vehicles, including motorcycles and marine engines. Each 10-ounce bottle treats up to 25 gallons of gasoline, and regular use has been proven to lower emissions.
DR40 Semi-synthetic Turbo Diesel Oil
The latest offering from Driven Racing Oil™ combines conventional 15W-40 viscosity with advanced synthetic mPAO technology to provide enhanced wear protection and shear stability for high-performance turbocharged diesel engines. With the maximum level of ZDDP recommended for diesel engines, DR40 Turbo Diesel Motor Oil delivers outstanding protection for flat tappet cams, bushing lifters, cam driven fuel pumps, turbocharger bearings and cylinder bores, according to the company. Plus, it is compatible with all exhaust after-treatment devices and exceeds the API licensed requirements of the CJ-4 specification, as well as the performance criteria of API C-4 Plus, CI-4, CH-4, CG-4 and CF-4. DR40 is also compliant with OEM performance specifications, including Caterpillar ECF-3, Cummins CES20081, Detroit Diesel Power Guard 93K218, Mack EO-O Premium Plus, Renault VI RLD-3, Volvo VDS-4 and Ford WSS-W2C171-E. It can be used in naturally aspirated diesel engines.
Injector Defender Diesel Fuel Additive
A new diesel fuel performance additive from Driven Racing Oil is designed to clean and protect fuel injectors while improving the performance of diesel engines. Driven Injector Defender Diesel features a unique detergent that prevents injector deposits by dispersing particles and contaminants in the fuel, allowing them to pass through injectors without clogging. Not only does Injector Defender Diesel provide protection against new deposits, it can also clean up current ones, restore diesel engine performance and improve fuel mileage. In addition, Injector Defender Diesel boosts Cetane, improves low temperature fuel flow, and increases lubricity to reduce injector and fuel pump wear. Injector Defender Gasoline Fuel Additive
A new additive from Driven Racing Oil is formulated to ensure clean and proper-functioning fuel injectors common in today’s engines. Driven Injector Defender Gasoline prevents harmful corrosion due to today’s ethanol-blended and poor-quality gasoline. Not only does Injector Defender restore performance and protect fuel injection systems from performance-robbing deposits, it also provides fuel stabilization and preservation, according to the company. This additive provides a pour-in solution that will not harm sensors in all fuel-injected cars, trucks, motorcycles and marine engines. Each 10-ounce bottle treats up to 25 gallons of gasoline.
Diagnostic Wipes
New Engine Oil Diagnostic Wipes from Driven Racing Oil take the guesswork out of deciding whether it’s time to change a vehicle’s oil. The wipes are designed to determine the basicity (TBN) of a small amount of engine oil. Either wipe the dipstick with or drip some oil on the wipe, and then wait a few seconds for the result. If the area saturated with oil turns pink, then the oil still has life and does not need to be changed. Minimal pink after one minute means the oil should be changed soon, while the absence of pink indicates the oil is acidic and needs to be immediately replaced.
