Curry’s Auto Service, headquartered in Sterling, Va., will open its first Maryland location Aug. 1 at 457 North Frederick Ave. in Gaithersburg.
The opening of the 5,500-square-foot, six-bay Gaithersburg store represents the third store opening in eight months for Curry’s Auto, which already operates seven shops in Northern Virginia.
“I chose this location in Gaithersburg because it is right on Route 355, close to Lakeforest Mall and to the major commuter Route 270, as well as close to Shady Grove Metro Station,” said Curry’s President, Matt Curry. “The demographics in the area lean toward our target market and Maryland deserves a high quality, friendly and honest full-service professional repair shop. We plan to continue our expansion and I am looking into other opportunities in Maryland as well as Northern Virginia."
Founded by Matt and Judy Curry in 1997, Curry’s was named a 2009 Tire Review Top Shop finalist; was voted “Best of Auto Repair Shop” by the readers of Northern Virginia Magazine in June 2010; and has received the highest AAA ratings in the country for customer satisfaction.
Curry’s has seen a revenue increase of 69% from 2008 to 2010. The shop is involved in a major expansion program that has seen it grow from four stores in 2008 to eight so far in 2011 the planned opening of Gaithersburg makes nine. Curry’s was named to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing private companies in the U.S. last year.
