The ContiProContact tire replaces its predecessor, the ContiTouringContact CH95.
“The ContiProContact outperformed the ContiTouringContact CH95 in virtually every category, including straight and lateral hydroplaning, as well as ABS braking performance in both wet and dry conditions,” said CTNA in a statement.
The tiremaker added that the all-season ContiProContact tire features three new technologies. The first, “PROactive Edge Technology,” is a tire geometry innovation that optimizes grip while reducing noise. The next technology, called “Controlled Sipe Interaction,” results in reduced tread block deformation and improves responsiveness and handling. Finally, the “PROgressive Groove Ramp” technology improves cornering stability and water evacuation, according to CTNA.
“The combined features of PROactive Edge Technology, PROgressive Groove Ramp and the Controlled Sipe Interaction provide unparalleled precision steering and handling in wet or dry conditions,” CTNA said.
The ContiProContact tire is available in 35 sizes to fit 15-inch to 18-inch wheel diameters. The tire has a UTQG rating of 400 AA/A and is available in run-flat versions.
