Cooper and Cowboys Go Pink to Support BCRF

October is "Think Pink" month to raise awareness for breast cancer research, and Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has joined forces with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation to kick things up a notch.

The Professional Bull Riders are inviting their top-ranked riders to New York City’s Times Square on Oct. 15 for an extra round this season. Garbed in pink chaps and the BCRF’s signature pink ribbon, the Cooper Tire Cowboys will “ride for a cure” on the fiercest bucking bulls.

For every second the Cooper-sponsored Cowboys ride, BCRF will receive a donation. Bull-riding fans will also be given the opportunity to donate by participating in a text-to-give program.

Leading up to the big event in Times Square, Cooper encouraged bull-riding fans to support BCRF at the PBR’s Cooper Tire Invitational in Columbus, Ohio, on Oct. 9-10.

Debuting their pink attire, Cooper Tire’s rough and tough Cowboys participated in a “Pink Lightening Round,” collecting additional donations for seconds spent atop the bucking bulls.

“Cooper is thrilled to join hands with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation to support and raise awareness of this disease that affects not only women, but the men in their lives, as well,” said Dave Craig, Cooper director of channel and consumer development. “The Professional Bull Riders is a wonderful demonstration of this, proving that men are just as passionate about fighting breast cancer and are not afraid to show their true colors – pink.”

To give, text “Cooper” to 27722 to donate $5 to BCRF. For more information on the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, visit bcrfcure.org.
