Continental Tire Canada Inc. recently opened a new warehouse in Oshawa, Ont. The newest addition to its company banner, the warehouse offers multi-model access (including rail), a climate controlled environment and sub-assembly facilities.
John Gray, mayor of Oshawa, Mario La Barbera, president of Pival International, Oliver Winschiers, general manager of Continental Tire Canada and Dominique Lacroix, director of logistics for Continental Tire North America, led the grand opening ceremony with welcoming remarks and officially opened the warehouse by cutting the ribbon.
“It is great to announce such good news these days,” said Winschiers. “As part of our continuing effort to advance our logistics and continually improve our future service performance levels to our customers, I would like to say thank you to Pival and the City of Oshawa for their tremendous support.”
The facility will hold up to 500,000 tires, with approximately 20 trailers arriving and leaving the warehouse daily. Continental will use the same-time implementation of WAMOS, an inventory management system, which supports the monitoring of the latest stock availability in real-time through its online application, ContiLink.
