Conti Signs Multi-Year College Basketball Deal

Continental Tire the Americas has entered a multi-year college basketball sponsorship deal.

The tiremaker signed a deal with International Management Group (IMG) property schools and Learfield property schools that covers six different conferences. Additionally the partnership includes courtside LED signage at each home game, in-stadium activation and a targeted TV package for a total of 381 games per season, Continental said.

“This is a great addition to our partnership portfolio at Continental Tire,” said Travis Roffler, director of marketing for Continental. “College basketball exemplifies top performance and so does Continental so it’s the perfect match. This partnership will allow us to build relationships with the millions of fiercely loyal, and passionate, college basketball fans across the country. We’re looking forward to the opportunities this platform will provide.”

The new sponsorship includes the following IMG property schools: University of Arizona, University of Connecticut, Duke University, University of Florida, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Kansas, University of Michigan, University of Nebraska, University of Oregon, University of South Carolina, St. John’s University, Syracuse University, and the University of Texas.

Additionally the partnership includes these Learfield property schools: University of Louisville, University of Missouri, University of North Carolina, University of Oklahoma, University of Kentucky, Seton Hall University, University of Wisconsin, and the Big Ten Conference.

Maxxis sponsored athletes Michael McFayden and Ethan Ebert finished the Mint 400 on the podium and Trey Gibbs turned in a fourth place performance in his class and seventh overall. The Minto 400 is coined “The Great American Off-Road Race.”

McFayden was second in UTV Pro NA, finishing the four-lap race in nine hours, 24 minutes and 38 seconds. He drove his Honda Talon on Maxxis RAZR XT tires. Ebert finished with a third-place spot on the 2WD podium and 13th overall, with a final time of seven hours, 41 minutes and 46 seconds. His Honda Ridgeline was outfitted with the same RAZR MT tires. Also riding RAZR MTs, Gibbs cracked the overall top 10 in seventh place and was fourth in Unlimited Spec after finishing in seven hours, 17 minutes and 46 seconds.
