Conti Launches Ameri*Steel by General Tire

Continental Tire the Americas is rolling out a new line of commercial truck tires from its General Tire brand – Ameri*Steel by General Tire.

“We’re very excited to offer a line of products for our customers who want a balance of both affordability and performance to suit their needs,” said Alex Chmiel, marketing director for commercial vehicles tires for Continental. “We recognize the market need for this level of product, and we’ve stepped up to make a high-quality line that will be produced locally here in the USA,” he added.

The Ameri*Steel line offers long haul, regional, drive and steer tires and pays homage to past General Tire commercial truck tires, Conti said.

The Ameri*Steel S380A long haul steer tire features a decoupler groove that extends tread life, while the AMERI*STEEL D460 long haul/regional drive tire offers flexible, long lasting performance and reliability, Conti said.

Additionally, the Ameri*Steel S360 all-position, regional tire design offers robust performance and abrasion resistance, while the Ameri*Steel D450 drive features an open shoulder design that offers optimal traction, the tiremaker said.

The General Tire brand celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2015.
