Conti Issues Second ContiProContact Tire Recall

Continental the Americas issued its second voluntary recall of ContiProContact tires with approximately 8,500 ContiProContact 225/45 R17 91 H passenger tires recalled due to loss of air pressure.

In early July Continental issued a voluntary recall of approximately 3,800 ContiProContact P205/65 R15 95T XL passenger tires due to possible tread separation.

The newly recalled tires, produced between February and May 2015, were sold in the replacement market with 4,884 in the U.S., 2,032 in Canada and 1,551 in Mexico. Continental notified NHTSA about the recall on July 15, and the tires can be identified with DOT codes P5TY PXH6 0815 through P5TY PXH6 1915. The tires will be replaced at no cost.

No accidents due to the tire have been reported, the tiremaker said.
