On Oct. 7, Community Wholesale Tire in St. Louis, Mo., served as a "Medal of Honor" sponsor for the Gateway Warrior Foundation golf benefit. The foundation raises funds to support wounded service men and women.
More than $100,000 was donated to foundations supported by this tournament, including David Feherty’s Troops First Foundation, Helping A Hero, Wounded Warrior Project, and St. Louis Fisher House.
Bridgestone sponsored the featured speaker, David Feherty, former professional golfer, broadcaster and author. Dan Gilyeat and John Wayne Walding, both retired military who lost limbs in Middle East conflicts, also made presentations.
Including Community Wholesale Tire, a total of $68,000 was donated by tire company sponsorships and tire supplier support, and customers who attended the event. Tire company sponsorships included: Strategic Import Supply, Bridgestone/Firestone, Community Tire Retreading, Duro Tire, Mitas Tire, Tube & Solid Tire, Continental, Goodyear, Hercules, Pirelli, Toyo, Mickey Thompson and Tyres International.
