Club 3633 Profile: Josh Hammett

Store Manager
Family Tire Pros

Josh Hammett has been busy trying to change people’s negative experience in the tire industry by providing a great experience to his customers.

“Business success is when you have earned a reputation for doing it right and doing it very, very well,” he explained. “Customers come in and there’s not a lot of advertising other than word of mouth and you’re known as the guy.”

For years, Hammett and one of his co-workers became trusted in their communities as not only the guys who could fix your car, but the ones who would help you with anything.

Hammett has been in the industry since he was a teenager when he started working at a Big O regional distribution center. Following a stint at a motorcycle shop, he’s been back in the tire industry since 2006. Hammett’s father, a partner at Family Tire Pros, was always a major influence in helping to build Hammett’s work ethic and drive.

“When I was 16, I started working at Big O,” Hammett recalls. “My dad helped get me the job and he told them, ‘If he doesn’t work out, just fire him. About three or four weeks into it, he pulled me on the side and told me he was proud of me.”

From that moment, Hammett knew he could succeed, so he worked hard to earn his place in the industry.

FUN FACT: Hammett enjoys restoring anything that’s old. He recently helped restore a 1961 Chevrolet Corvair pickup truck and took it on a 4,000-mile road trip with his family.
