Capital Tire Marks 60 Years with Goodyear

(Akron/Tire Review) Toledo, Ohio-based tire retailer and distributor Capital Tire is celebrating its 60th year with Goodyear.

Capital Tire owners Tom Geiger Sr. and Tom Geiger Jr. recently traveled to Akron to meet with Goodyear officials, including Jon Rich, president of Goodyear’s North American Tire unit.

“Through most of the years, Goodyear has been our primary supplier, so we have relied heavily on a strong relationship. It has been good for us, and we appreciate everything that all the people at Goodyear have done for our company,” said Geiger Sr.

Founded in 1919 by Ben Geiger, the company is now of its fourth generation; Tom Geiger Jr. has two children, Ben and Cari, who are involved in the business.

Capital Tire operates six Tom’s Tire retail stores, six commercial outlets that offer truck tires and retreading and eight wholesale locations.
