First piloted in Ontario, the program rolls out July 1, providing cardholders with instant savings at Canadian Tire gas bar pumps with a swipe of the card.
Introduced in Ontario in 2006, the Gas Advantage MasterCard is the first card of its kind in Canada to instantly roll back the price of gas by up to 10 cents off a litre, according to Cnadian Tire.
"By leveraging the strengths of Canadian Tire Petroleum and Canadian Tire Financial Services we are able to provide our customers with an innovative product that offers them instant savings at the pumps at a time when the price of gas is top-of-mind," says Jim Kozack, vice president of Canadian Tire.
Cardholders are rewarded for using their card on any purchase at any location. The more customers use their card, the higher gas savings they attain, the company said. (Tire Review/Akron)
