Dan Callaghan Enterprises has announced that a new CEO will be taking over the company’s operations.
Don Mead will take over the helm from Dan Callaghan, founder of the Bradenton, Florida-based company who has been at its head for around 40 years.
Mead began his career in the commercial tire industry at Bridgestone Bandag holding leadership positions in sales and marketing for seven years. He continued his career with HNI Corporation in various general management and leadership positions for 17 years, retiring in 2017 as president of The Gunlocke Company and executive vice president of HNI Corporation.
Mead, who holds a bachelor’s degree from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master’s degree from The University of Iowa – Tippie College of Business, has close ties with the Callaghan family in a relationship that spans over four decades. Mead’s focus will be building on the 40 years of market leadership the corporation thas o drive sustained, long-term profitable growth.
Founded in 1978, Callaghan Tire got its start as a small Bandag retread plant and a service center in Bradenton. The company has ten commercial service centers across Florida, two ISO 9000-certified Bandag retread plants, an OTR/Industrial tire repair facility, a full-service auto center and Callaghan Industrial Tire, which is dedicated to forklift and industrial tire service.
