Bridgestone Rolls Out R268 Ecopia Fuel-Efficient Tire

Bridgestone Americas commercial division launched the newest edition to the Ecopia product line - R268 Ecopia.

Bridgestone Americas commercial division launched the newest edition to the Ecopia product line – R268 Ecopia.

The all-position radial is designed to provide fuel efficiency for regional and pickup and delivery fleets while delivering durability in high scrub environments, the company said.

“Up until now local and regional pick-up and delivery fleets had to choose between a long wearing tire for high-scrub applications or a tire designed for pickup and delivery use,” said Bert Jones, manager of commercial tire marketing. “The R268 Ecopia meets both these needs, plus it is EPA SmartWay verified and California Air Resources Board compliant. In an era where many fleets measure tire performance according to fuel-efficiency, the Ecopia product line continues to deliver with this latest addition.”

The tire offers a unique tread design with protective features that help resist damage from curbing and maneuvering scrub, which helps extend the tread life. Additionally, the R268 offers a wave channel design and an optimized rib distribution that reduces irregular wear, and utilizes a NanoPro-Tech compound that improves rolling resistance and a high scrub compound that resists tread scrubbing, according to the tiremaker.

Currently, the R268 Ecopia is available in size 295/75R22.5. Additional sizes will launch in the upcoming months.
