Bridgestone Americas is voluntarily recalling 2,900 Firestone FR710 and Champion Fuel Fighter tires.
According to a notice with the NHTSA, an estimated 32 tires could have been affected by misproduction but “an abundance of caution, BATO has initiated this voluntary recall of approximately 2,900 tires.” Affected tires may have been produced with inconsistent rubber coverage over steel piles and could result in tread separation, Bridgestone reported.
Tires being recalled are Firestone FR710 tires, size 205/65R16, and Champion Fuel Fighter tires, sizes 205/65R15 and 205/70R15, manufactured March 27, 2016, to April 9, 2016.
Bridgestone will notify the dealers and owners of the recall and will replace tires free of charge. Owners may contact Bridgestone customer service at 1-800-847-3272. Additional information can be found on www.safecar.gov.
