The store is also Bridgestone’s first direct-investment (as opposed to dealer-built) location, according to the Shanghai Daily. The tiremaker expects the store to sell 700 tires a month. Bridgestone will also start selling branded wheels this year, Liu Yang, a Bridgestone sales official, told the newspaper.
“More such stores may be built in other cities, depending on market demand,” Yang reportedly told the paper, which also reported that Bridgestone plans to operate 5,600 sales outlets in China by 2010.
