In January, the company announced its intention to create the center either by updating and extensively renovating the existing facility in Akron, or building a new one in Akron or the Middle Tennessee area. At that time, Bridgestone was also considering locations in Nashville and another area of Akron.
Though the company is not ready to make a final recommendation at this time, it reported it is now focusing on completing its evaluation of the Murfreesboro offer and the remaining Akron proposal. The final recommendation must be approved by the Board of Directors of both Bridgestone Americas and Bridgestone Corp., the company said. (Tire Review/Akron)
