Bridgestone Launches New Firestone Ad Campaign

Bridgestone Americas is kicking off a new ad campaign for its Firestone brand and Firestone Complete Auto Care stores. Ads for Firestone branded tires urge truck owners to get out and do what their truck is built to do. While ads for Firestone Complete Auto Care are designed to acknowledge its technicians as artisans, the tiremaker said.

“The Firestone brand connects with a distinct group of people who work hard, play hard and expect the most from their vehicles. Our new ad campaigns really celebrate the role Firestone plays in achieving those goals,” said Philip Dobbs, chief marketing officer for Bridgestone Americas.

Bridgestone’s latest Firestone campaign, “Do Truck Stuff” is designed to explore the possibilities that exists for truck owners who purchase Firestone tires and finally realize their truck’s full potential, the tiremaker said. The “Do Truck Stuff” campaign features two television spots — “Lee Rides Again,” and “Ann’s Epic Errand”—as well as radio, online as well as social activations.

In “Lee Rides Again,” now airing on cable television, Lee is inspired to go mud bogging, crush a toy car like a monster truck and find that perfect fishing spot, Bridgestone said. In “Ann’s Epic Errand,” Ann realizes that picking up party favors doesn’t have to be a mundane task.

Bridgestone has also launched the “Handcrafted” campaign for Firestone Complete Auto Care. One television commercial explores the trend of purchasing handmade items, Bridgestone said. Another spot muses how people spend $30 for a shirt that makes them appear like they work with their hands, joking the techs at Firestone Complete Auto Care centers are flattered since that’s just what they do.
