Bridgestone Europe’s sales companies and warehousing have been re-certified to ISO 9001:2008.
The certification, independently verified by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, requires companies to meet specific quality management system requirements across all business areas.
Mitsuhira Shimazaki, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Bridgestone Europe, said, “ISO 9001 is an important standard which we have held since 1992. It assists us in ensuring that we consistently control our major business practices with greater efficiency. Adopting an ISO Quality Management System approach enables us to provide consistent high quality products and services through stringent control of our processes. We believe that obtaining the certification offers the opportunity to enhance customer satisfaction and meet customer requirements.”
Bridgestone Europe is one of the only major tire companies in Europe to hold ISO 9001 certification for all of its sales subsidiaries, which illustrates its commitment to the eight ISO Quality Management Principles, which include customer focus, involvement of people and mutually beneficial supplier relationships.
Currently, 21 sites across Bridgestone Europe’s sales subsidiaries and warehousing are audited to ensure the company meets the ISO 9001 requirements. In total, Bridgestone Europe operates an R&D center, eight plants and offices in more than 30 European countries, with over 13,000 employees. (Tyres & Accessories)
