Starting July 2015, Bridgestone Americas will be offering a new winter tire for CUVs, SUVs and light trucks – the Blizzak DM-V2.
The Blizzak DM-V2 features an all new tread pattern and compounding to offer drivers more control when driving in ice, snow and slush, Bridgestone said.
The DM-V2 replaces the DM-V1, offering several improvements over its predecessor, the tiremaker said.
According to Bridgestone, the DM-V2 offers improved ice performance, utilizing a new multi-cell compound that helps dispel water from the surface of the ice. The tire offers increased traction with 15% more block edges compared to its predecessor, increasing the tires snow-shearing force. Additionally, the DM-V2’s contact patch has been enhanced to create a uniform dispersion of pressure where the tire meets the road, Bridgestone said.
The Blizzak DM-V2 is available in 50 sizes in 15- to 22-inch wheel diameters, 40 to 70 series, and speed ratings T and H.
