Border Tire has announced its intent to acquire five TCi Tire Centers commercial service locations and one MRT retread plant from Michelin North America.
Border Tire, a member of Michelin’s Commercial Service Network based in El Paso, Texas, is a Michelin dealer and Oliver rubber-affiliated retreader. The companies expect the deal to close on the five locations in California by Nov. 30. Under the deal, Border Tire will acquire TCi locations in Bakersfield, Van Nuys, Fontana, Santa Fe Springs and Lakeside, California.
Border Tire currently has five full-service commercial locations in Laredo and El Paso, Texas; Las Cruces, New Mexico; and Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona. It also has an Oliver Retread plant in El Paso.
Taking on these additional locations will not only grow our customer, base but it will give us the opportunity to give our customers the absolute best service in the Southwest,” said Border Tire Owner Royal Jones. “You need the right people in place to make these locations work, and I feel we have the right people to get the job done.”
