Blackcircles Cooperates with Bike Trader

The new deal will see Bike Trader (biketrader.co.uk) launch its own online tyre shop powered by the Blackcircles retail engine.

Through the new shop bike owners will have access to a range of over 10,000 tyres, including Pirelli, Bridgestone and Metzeler, at some of the lowest prices in Europe.

Sister site to leading motoring website Auto Trader, Bike Trader has a growing following. The new partnership will see the popular bike site link into Blackcircles ordering and stock checking systems enabling customers to order tyres and have them delivered anywhere in the U.K.

Blackcircles currently claims over 100,000 registered customers, which gain an average of 40% their normal purchase price of tyres. Mike Welch, managing director of Blackcircles, said: “This is a real coup for Black Circles as Bike Trader is a well established brand and it means that we are able to introduce all the benefits of our tyre service to a large part of the market through one partner.”

The deal comes at a time when more people are trying bikes as a leisure pursuit. “With this comes a growing demand for accessories and by partnering with Biker Trader, and tapping into their expertise in the bike market, we are able to offer customers an enhanced service and enable them to enjoy their passion for bikes at a lower cost,” added Welch.

The Ohio Tire and Automotive Association (OTAA) held its annual golf outing this year at The Country Club at Muirfield Village, close to the renowned Muirfield Village Golf Club, home of the PGA Tour's Memorial Tournament.

OTAA leadership welcomed around 116 OTAA members and thanked sponsors before teeing off and, following golf, attendees gathered for dinner, drinks and donations. OTAA leadership, including new President Jon Boyd, tire business manager, from Boyd’s Tire and Service, presented a $3,000 donation to the Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation (AACF). OTAA also presented the William Floyd Distinguished Service Award to Tom White, owner of the six-store Tire Source chain based in Canton. White received the honor in recognition of his long-term dedication and contributions to the OTAA board and the broader Ohio tire industry.
