BFNAT Announces $17 Million Investment in Aiken Plant

(Akron/Tire Review) Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire (BFNAT) announced that it will invest $17 million in its Aiken County, S.C., plant during a ceremony commemorating the 50 millionth tire produced there.

BFNAT will add a fourth rubber mixer to the facility as well as modify five existing tire-building machines to produce large wheel diameter tires. Total investment in the plant now stands at roughly $477 million, according to BFNAT.

The Aiken County facility produces passenger and light truck tires and has 923 employees. It began operations in 1999.

Kenda Tires, this year an associate partner for the Cleveland Cavaliers 2024 NBA Playoffs run, kicked off its partnership announcement at the Kenda American Technical Center in North Canton, Ohio, on April 16 with an appearance from Cavs mascot, Sir C.C., and Ahmaad Crump, in-arena host for the Cleveland Cavaliers and "the Voice of the Cavs" during NBA games. Kenda will continue as an associate partner as the Cavs advance through the playoff seeding. This will include advertising on the court, a giveaway of Kenda rally towels, and advertising during local pre-game programming.
