BFGoodrich Brand Launches Outstanding Trails Program

(Akron/Tire Review) Michelin North America’s (MNA) BFGoodrich tire division announced the launch of its Outstanding Trails program, a result of a collaborative effort among BFGoodrich, Tread Lightly and United Four Wheel Drive Associations (UFWDA).

The Outstanding Trails program focuses on the responsible use and preservation of five off-road trails in North America, MNA said in a release. Tread Lightly and UFWDA are nonprofit organizations dedicated to responsible and ethical outdoor recreation.

The five trails, nominated for uniqueness, terrain type and enthusiast following include: Black Bear Pass (Ouray, Colo.), Pyeatt Draw (Payson, Ariz.), Hell’s Revenge (Moab, Utah), Historic Naches Pass (Naches, Wash.) and Upper Tellico OHV area, trail #4 (Natahala National Forest, N.C.).

The program, which runs from May to October, will include several events hosted by the BFGoodrich brand at the trails as well as a grant to a selected off-road club that will contribute to conservation efforts.

“Last year, more than 50 million people sought adventure through recreational off-road driving; the sport is exploding in popularity,” said Kaz Holley, brand director for MNA’s BFGoodrich tire division. “Each one of the trails highlighted in this program is amazing and embodies the very best in off-roading. BFGoodrich tires and these Outstanding Trails are very similar in nature – both are tough and both are fun to drive on.”
