Bartec USA has increased the coverage of its Tech400Pro and Tech500’s ability to adjust the recommended inflation pressure by 23 vehicles.
“Having the ability to adjust a vehicle’s recommended inflation pressure when up-fitting or plus-sizing remains a very important feature according to automotive service providers and tire retailers that we speak to,” said Scot Holloway, CEO of Bartec USA. “Bartec is working every day to drive this coverage forward, because it is a game changer for TPMS and it’s a huge opportunity for service providers in the aftermarket,” continued Holloway.
Bartec advises that whenever wheel and tire combinations are either plus-sized, or up-fitted the recommended inflation pressure should be changed in order to maintain the same load carry capacity for the vehicle. When this pressure changes, the TPMS must be recalibrated, otherwise the trigger point for low tire pressure will not be accurate, Bartec said.
