According to Hercules, the tire is ideal for vehicles that require heavy load capacities or operate in conditions that demand a heavy-duty, puncture-resistant tire.

Goodyear G572 1AD Commercial Tire

The SmartWay-verified Goodyear G572 1AD truck tire for single-axle drive and 6×2 applications is now available, according to the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.    Designed for high-torque applications, the G572 1AD is available in sizes 295/75R22.5 and 11R22.5, both load range G, and can use the popular G572 Goodyear UniCircle and precure retread products.

Nokian Tyres Owes Back Taxes in Finland

Nokian Tyres has received a reassessment decision from the Finland tax administration, stating the tiremaker is obligated to pay 26.9 million euros in back taxes. Nokian plans on disputing the reassessment.  Nokian owes the government 16 million euros in additional taxes and 10.9 million in punitive tax increases and interests for the 2007 tax year.

Fire Destroys a West Virginia Tire Store

A fire destroyed a tire store in Summersville, W.Va., early Saturday morning. Emergency dispatchers said fire crews responded to a call at C. Adam Toney Discount Tires on Broad Street in Summersville just after 4:30 a.m. Fire crews from throughout Nicholas County, W. Va., were called to the scene and were there for several hours.
